Mrs. Moore

Dear Mrs. Moore's Class, Below is a suggested schedule. This can be tweaked to fit your family's schedule. This is by NO means a required schedule. You also do not need to complete each activity on the assigned day. Please complete activities as they fit your schedule. I will be checking in with each family on Thursday to see how it has been going. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please let me know. UPDATED APRIL 6th: Please let me know if you would like me to email you any of the suggested printable activities. These activities are also posted on Class Dojo for easy access.

Weather experiment

I’ve got a sunshine on a cloudy day🌤
Rain Cloud Experiment

What you’ll need:
Shaving cream
Water
Food colouring
Containers (apple sauce or laundry detergent containers work great)
Glass jar or transparent container
Pipettes, Medicine Droppers, or a straw

How To Make Shaving Cream Rain Clouds
1. Fill your glass or jar 3/4 of the way full with water. Add shaving cream on top. This is our fluffy cloud.
2. Mix food coloring with some water in separate containers.
3. Have your child add drops of the coloured water to the cloud.

This activity strengthens those fine motor skills as the children transfer the water using the droppers or straws. As the water gets heavier and heavier on top of the shaving cream clouds it will start to fall out of the cloud and make rain underneath.

This is what happens with real clouds. The water droplets get heavier and heavier until they fall down as rain. Fun fact: The average cloud weighs 1.1 million pounds!)🌨

Write down two ways you have been helpful during this time off from school.
