I teach the Early Childhood Special Education class. The High Scope COR Advantage program is used primarily in this class. The COR Advantage is a birth-to-kindergarten assessment that assists in supporting children at every developmental level-including children who are English Language Learners and those with special needs. There are eight content areas in the COR Advantage: Approaches to Learning; Social and Emotional Development; Physical development and Health; Language, Literacy and Communication; Mathematics; Creative Arts; Science and Technology; and Social Studies. Each content area comprises items that address key concepts in early learning. The key concepts are taught while the children are involved in active learning. The daily routine is set up for large group learning activities and small group learning activities.
